My memory is a bit hazy—it was twenty years ago, after all—but I seem to recall a political cartoon that came out maybe just after Jesse Jackson won the Michigan primary? It showed an old black man listening to the radio or watching TV and saying to a young black child, “President? No, son, but one day you could be the front-runner.” (Or something along those lines.) Anyway, if anyone out there remembers it as well and can track it down, it would make a neat counterpoint to the Tom Toles panel above.
